Das ehemalige DDR Kühl- und Transportschiff wurde vor Jahren zum schwimmenden Kulturschiff umgebaut. Seit 2015 ist Hamburg fester Heimathafen, wo die Stubnitz in der südlichen Hafencity vor Anker liegt. Im Schiffsbauch finden Konzerte, Partys und Workshops aller Genres statt. Viele Konzerte und Performances wurden auf Audio und Video aufgezeichnet und in einem Medienarchiv aufbewahrt. In den Jahren 2013, 2017, 2018 und 2021 erhielt das Projekt den Bundespreis „Applaus“ für kulturell herausragendes Live-Musikprogramm. 2025 wird das Projekt mit dem Award „Bester Club 2024“ durch eine Fachjury des Clubkombinats Hamburg ausgezeichnet. Außerdem gewinnt die Stubnitz auch den Award als „Lieblingsclub 2024“ im Public Voting. Die Stubnitz ist dringend auf der Suche nach einem neuen Liegeplatz, der aktuelle Platz ist nur bis Ende 2026 genehmigt. Ohne funktionierenden Liegeplatz in Hamburg, keine Zukunft.
